My mother was deaf. Then she passed away from Leukemia. I was left under the care of my grandmother. She is separated from my grandfather. We were living with my uncle, and he lost his job. He has his own children, one of whom is epileptic and requires a lot of medical attention. Life was very hard. I have not been able to go to school consistently so although I am 8 years old, I am just starting school. I’m very thankful for an opportunity to live at Kaptagat Children’s Home with my brother, Emmanuel Kipchirchir, where our daily needs are met and we able to go to school.
