My Story

David is the fifth child in a family of nine that broke apart when his mother was diagnosed with cancer. His father abandoned the family because he couldn't handle the emotional toll of caring for his wife through illness and taking care of such a large family. This left David and his siblings to care for their mother and one another as she was in and out the hospital for chemotherpay treatments. This task became insurmountable, causing the children to leave school and to regularly go hungry. David was hired as a shepherd to earn a salary for his family but taken advantage of and never received payment for his work. In the Chariots home David will return to school, access regular meals, participate in trauma counseling and join church again. He is working through his past and David will once again be able to enjoy his youth.
