My Story

My parents separated after my mom was infected with AIDS. Both of them have re-married. Neither my step mother or step father want anything to do with me. I was left with my grandmother. She is elderly and does not have any way to provide for me. Her grass thatched house was burned down during the 2007-2008 post-election violence. The government had to built her another two room house because she could not do it for herself. I had no hope and no where to belong until I was given the opportunity to live at Kaptagat Children’s Home.
