Sharon’s mother was a single parent. She passed away in 2002 due to a sickness. Sharon and her three siblings were left under the care of their uncle, who already had a family of his own. Trying to provide holistic care for the Sharon and her siblings was difficult since he did not have a stable source of income. Out of this need, Sharon was therefore admitted into Kaptagat Children's Home in 2005 for care and support.
