My parents separated in 2020 due to domestic violence. My siblings and I went with our mother to a friend's house. We did not have anywhere else to go. During this time my mom got pregnant and was unable to work. Our family friend was unable to continue supporting us. Then my dad called and said he wanted to reconcile. When we went home, we found that he had married another woman and we were chased away. The government has stepped in to help us with housing and some school fees for my oldest sister. However, my family is still unstable. I'm thankful to be at Mahiga with two of my siblings.
