My Story

George comes from a very isolated and distressing home life. His parents separated when he was very young and his mother took his three of my half-siblings and left the family. George has not seen them since and does not know where they are now. His father is paralysed and living with with a chronic incurable illness and cannot afford medical care, so he he is unable to care for George. His grandmother has struggled to provide for and care for George while also caring for his ailing father. He has gone without food, schooling, proper hygiene, clean clothes, medical care, and safety. He was rescued to Mahiga Children's Home and is adjusting to this safe and caring environment, where his physical needs are needs are being met. He is attending school, church and Sunday School with his brothers and sisters at the children's home and receiving the love, attention and support that will help him to overcome the trauma of his past and give him a promising future.
