Vivian’s single mother has never been married, and Vivian’s father is unknown. Vivian’s mother does not have an education and is unable to find employment. It has been extremely difficult to provide for the needs of her seven children, as she relies on the meager income from selling illegally-made alcohol out of her home. Vivian’s mother has been arrested and jailed on multiple occasions because of this dangerous business. Vivian’s eldest sisters dropped out of school early, and there is every indication that she will follow suit if there is not an intervention.
