I was left in the care of my grandmother after my mother abandoned my siblings and me, as she is an alcoholic. I lived with my grandmother, but she was unable to support us and give us the basic necessities such as food, clothes, shelter, and education. There would be some days that we would go without food. My sisters and I have been brought to Maai Mahiu, where we are able to receive the care we need.
