I hope this letter finds you and your family doing well. I’m excited to share with you about an opportunity I have to be part of a short-term mission trip to Kenya. 

Overview

I’ve been a recipient of the Lord’s faithfulness through the various ways He has blessed and grown me. By God’s grace, I continue to flourish as a student and athlete at Calvary Christian Academy. I have the opportunity to share the gospel and lead others to the Lord at my local church, and also teach the Word at youth group. Raised in a Christian home, I’ve attended many local, national, and international ministry outreaches and have greatly enjoyed witnessing the fruit that serving the Lord produces. It’s always a blessed reminder that God’s purposes extend beyond my comprehension, and His Church is much bigger than any one state, nation, or continent. The apostle John writes in Revelation 7:9-10, “After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” God’s people, though scattered throughout the earth, will eventually be united in glorified worship. 

Calling

The Lord has pressed on my heart to serve His heavenly congregation while still on this earth with the gifts, talents, and abilities He’s given me. When a youth group leader presented the opportunity to serve God’s people in Kenya, I immediately was hungry for details. I had prayed for tangible ways to express God’s love in uncomfortable settings, and the Lord, in His providence, had provided such an opening. 

Trip Details

As for the details of the trip, we will be a small team of 5 traveling from June 23 through July 2. Our goal is to bless, serve, and have positive, life-changing interactions with the kids and staff at two Chariots for Hope children's homes. Chariots of Hope is a missions organization whose mission is to provide hope in Christ for orphaned and vulnerable children in Kenya. They strive to provide Christ-centered, holistic care for the children under their care. Some activities we are preparing to do include organizing a mini VBS, arranging a sports day, taking the kids on a field trip, helping with chores, and leading evening Bible studies for the kids. We will also have loads of fun exploring Kenyan culture by attending a Kenyan church, visiting a local school, going on a safari, and exploring the towns nearby. 

Support

Embarking on a trip like this involves many costs, including time, comfort, and financial resources. Prayer is the primary method that you can support me in all of this. Praying for my team, the Chariots for Hope ministry, and the children and staff we hope to bless is crucial to the trip yielding fruit.

In addition, if you feel led to support me financially, I will be raising $2500 by June 1. All of the money that is raised will go to Chariots for Hope to fund all of the expenditures of the trip, including housing, food, transportation, activities, etc.
