Hello Friends, Family, and Community Members
My name is Alex James Pauling and I am very blessed and excited to share with you all that I have the opportunity for a once-in-a lifetime experience! This experience being that I will be able to go to Kenya in the first two weeks of August 2026. This is all possible thanks to Chariots For Hope partnering with Gwynedd's Mercy University's Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy program.
During this time in Kenya, my peers and I will be able to work with Kenyan educators and occupational therapists to help meet the needs of communities in Kenya. We will be helping those who are less fortunate and learn much about Kenya's health resources and the cultural differences that it has. We will be able to apply our occupational therapy knowledge to make a life-long positive change in these communities.
I am so grateful to take part of this because I believe that I was put on this earth to help others in need. As a Christian man and a senior student who believes in Gwynedd Mercy's goal and value of spreading mercy, I believe it is important to help others in need. The Sisters of Mercy believed that mercy is living out God's call to serve others in need with compassion, justice, and selfless service and that is what I want to do during my time in Kenya! I also believe this trip will also prepare me as a future occupational therapist. I know the experiences I will receive from this journey will get me ready for the amazing and passionate field of occupational therapy.
I cannot do this alone and that is what I am asking you all to help me reach my fundraising goal of $3,400, to allow me to serve others in Kenya. Your contribution will go directly towards expenses such as transportation, lodging, supplies, food and other resources needed to help us on our mission.
Here’s how you can help:
